In extreme cases physically removing moss from shingles may be an option. In lieu of pressure washing, which can damage roofing material, light manual clean can be performed, followed by a zinc treatment to keep the moss at bay. Moss removal not only prevents an unattractive appearance that can reduce property values, it also prevents damage to the roof material.
